As many of you know, I love the spontanaity and
dynamics of live music. Blues and R&B/funk provide great opportunities
to WCS to live music.

While there is plenty of music
on Friday and Saturday nights (unfortunately some great music on some bad/really
small floors), where do you find great music on Sundays on a floor that isn’t
huge like the MMC but hardly anyone is dancing. Once a month
Dean’s Tavern just south of Hwy 36 on Rice Street offers up a
buffet (it was great!) and live music from Who Nu from 2 – 6. The cost is
only $5 with a one drink minimum. There are some legendary/great local
musicians and singers so be prepared to be properly surprised. Often,
local musicians will drop by and sit in for a couple of numbers. Paul, the
owner of the bar is a really nice guy who loves it when real dancers show up to
populate his floor. I have danced there many, many times and always
enjoyed myself. Most importantly, the place is small and so is the sound
level – your ear drums won’t get destroyed. The next sessions are
May 7 and June 18 (special Father’s Day Pig Roast).
See ya on the dance floor.
<FONT face=sans-serif
